The prophecies of Garabandal

The Chastisement

The last and most serious of the warnings attributed to the apparitions of Garabandal: an event conditional on humanity's response after the Warning and the Great Miracle.

What is the Chastisement of Garabandal?

According to the testimonies attributed to the four girls of San Sebastián de Garabandal, the Chastisement would be the last of three great events announced during the apparitions that took place between 1961 and 1965.

It was not presented as an inevitable destiny. Its fulfilment would depend on humanity's response after receiving two extraordinary opportunities: the Warning and the Great Miracle.

The core of the message would not be to provoke fear, but to warn about the consequences of wilfully rejecting one final call to conversion, reconciliation and returning to God.

Important: Garabandal is not officially recognised by the Catholic Church as an apparition of supernatural origin. This page presents the testimonies and documents associated with the events, always distinguishing between belief, historical account and the Church's position.
We must make many sacrifices, do much penance, visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently and lead good lives. If we do not, a chastisement will come.
